UN Not US Governance of the Internet
Oxford think tank calls for EU diplomatic offensive at the World Summit on the Information Society
(Oxford, 16 November 2005) Recognizing that the internet is a global public good whose design, control, and operation is equally viral to the security and prosperity of all countries in the world, the EU should use launch a diplomatic offensive at the World Summit on the Information Society starting today in Tunisia to ensure that the responsibility for and power over internet governance is transferred from the US to the UN, says a think tank based in Oxford.
